Registering your Controller
At this point, you should have already created a user account, and logged in. If this is not the case, then please view Online_Control_Introduction
When you login to the website, you will be presented with a list of devices that you have defined and can control.
The first time you login, there will be no devices, and you will see the following screen:
You can follow the link to add a device, however, as this is the first time you've visited the website, you will not yet have defined your Controller.
It is recommended that you do this first. To do so, click on "My Controller"
Ensure that your Online Controller is plugged is connected to the internet, and powered on.
On the bottom of the unit you will find the serial number - this is a 6 digit number, with a "*" at the beginning and end.
Enter the serial number, and click "Register Controller"
If your controller is not recognized, possibly due to an incorrect serial number or internet connectivity issues, you will be prompted to try again:
If this happens, see the section Troubleshooting
If all goes well, you will see the following screen:
Congratulations Your controller is connected and setup. You can now add devices to your account.
Add a Device
To add a device to your account, click on "Manage Devices"
The first time you view this screen, there will be no devices defined:
To add your first (and subsequent devices), click "Add New Device". You will see the next screen:
Enter a name for the device, select it's address, and choose an icon to represent it.
When you're ready to proceed, click "Add Now".
That's it, you're first device is ready to use. Repeat these steps for as many devices as you wish.
You can edit and delete devices at any time in the future, if you need to. (details below)
Device Control
Clicking on "Control Devices" will present you with a list of devices, their current status (on/off), and buttons to control them - that is - turn them on or off:
Click the "On" button, and the icon will change :
At the same time, your TV, or other device connected to Smart Socket "A1" will turn on.
This is how you control your individual devices from any web browser.
Editing A Device
Once a device has been added, you may wish to edit it. For example, to change its name, icon or address.
Start by clicking "Manage Devices". You will see a list of devices currently defined.
Clicking on the device name, in this case "Television", will take you to the Edit Device page, showing the current name, address and icon for the device:
You can change any of the details. In this example, we'll change the address from A1 to B4
When all details are correct, click "Save Changes". You will be taken back to the "Manage Devices" page, which will show the new details:
That concludes the section on editing a device.
Deleting a Device
If you want to delete a device, simply click on "Manage Devices", which will display a list of all the devices currently defined:
Click "Delete" alongside the device you wish to remove. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to delete it - press "OK" to proceed, or "Cancel" to keep the device.
The "Manage Devices" page will reload to show the remaining devices (if any).
This concludes the Devices section.
Premium Features
Premium features are available on a subscription basis.
These include:
"Scenes" : The ability to have a number of devices change state with one mouse click.
"Schedules" : The ability to have devices change state at a pre-set date and time - either on a specific date, or on a recurring daily pattern (e.g. every Monday at 09:00, every weekday at 17:30, every weekend at 12:00 , every Monday and Wednesday 11:00 etc).
