What are the advantages of the 2011 Bye Bye Standby® Range?

Bye Bye Standby wall switch, online controller and smart socket The new Bye Bye Standby® range is an improved version of our popular energy-saving products. It is more cost-effective than ever and allows you to control even more devices, such as large audio-visual systems, because all smart sockets can be used with equipment using up to 3,000W (13A)*.

It is also now much easier to change the battery on your remote control, and the new casing on the Smart Sockets makes it easier to use the device in sockets that are mounted low to the ground or recessed into the floor (as can be the case in older buildings or purpose-built office blocks).

Are the new Bye Bye Standby® Energy Saving Sockets compatible with existing products in the range?

Table showing compatibility of 2011 BBS range with the Classic BBS range Yes, the new Bye Bye Standby® sockets can be programmed to work with all the existing controllers, such as the Bye Bye Standby® wall-mounted switch, motion sensor or remote controls. Unfortunately, the new remote control can not be used to operate previous editions of Bye Bye Standby® sockets or the lamp dimmer.

Are the new Bye Bye Standby® Sockets compatible with the Online Controller?

Yes. When adding the socket to the web based interface, you simply need to set the 'Address' of the socket to A1. Click here to view full instructions:

Do you still sell Heavy Duty Sockets separately?

No, all sockets within the new range are heavy duty sockets approved for use on devices of up to 3000W/13A*.

Is it possible to turn all my Bye Bye Standby® sockets off simultaneously with the new Remote Control?

Yes, this can be done by using the All Off button of your remote control.

Are Bye Bye Standby® sockets available for use in other countries?

Yes, we have sockets that are suitable for use in Europe, North America & Australia/New Zealand.

The Bye Bye Standby® Starter Kit now consists of one socket and one remote control. Extension Packs (comprising two additional sockets) are also available.
Online Controller: allows you to operate your Bye Bye Standby® sockets remotely via the internet and set automatic times for certain devices to switch on/off. Can be used to simulate occupancy when you're away.
Wall switches: very easy to install and great for turning all electrical devices off at the touch of a button as you leave the house
Motion sensors: control appliances through motion detection
Powerdown Strip: will automatically turn your peripherals (e.g. printer, monitor) off when your PC shuts down
In-ceiling halogen transformer and in-ceiling/back box switch - energy-saving wireless switches for lights
Extension leads: control up to four devices from one Bye Bye Standby® socket.
